Advocacy and Influence

This is a process in which ZNAPD is engaged in demanding that various stakeholders comply with national and international instruments and policies that seek to address right, interests and concerns of persons with disabilities of both gender and all ages.

We on continuously improving the advocacy skills of our members and staff to be effective advocates and lobbyists, this work is supported by providing communication materials such as brochures, leaflets and wall charts with several messages of policies, success stories, current situations and what responses we expect from duty bearers.

The women and girls with disabilities are encouraged to form strong advocacy and leadership structures, and demand their inclusion in mainstream leadership as well as access to services such as sexual and reproductive health and other development programmes within their communities. The specific objectives are:
•    To impart skills on women and girls with disabilities so that they are able to be effective leaders and advocates
•    To build and widen the knowledge base on leadership, legal instruments and policies that have local and international remit
•    To increase the participation of women in the organisation as well as in community activities
•    To produce enough pamphlets for information dissemination and education aimed at women and girls with disabilities as well as the community at large.
